Learn to Knit and Learn to Crochet
You know you want to! Learn how to knit and/or how to crochet with us! We offer small group, learn-to classes most months which include yarn, needles and a copy of Church Mouse Yarns & Teas How-To Companion booklet. Check out our calendar. Or call or email the shop to find out more and to register!
For our younger fiber friends, we suggest a private tutorial. Please call the shop so we can talk about what works best for your aspiring, new knitter or crocheter!
When a 5-10 minute, free over-the-counter consult isn't enough, you may like to schedule a private, 30-minute or 60-minute tutorial with any of our staff. Call or email the shop to let us know what you need and what day(s)/time(s) might be convenient for you. Tutorials are $10/30 minutes or $20/60 minutes. A cash payment directly to the staff member instructing you is preferred.
Please note that some of our staff require a minimum of 1 hour.
We also offer Lifelines, a group help session, on Thursday mornings facilitated by Bonnie Harden
from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Session fee: $10.
Class Cancellation Policy
Refunds for class/event registrations offered for store credit only for participant-initiated cancellations up to 7 days prior to class/event. A Note about Hand-Dyed Yarn
Many of the yarns we carry are hand-dyed, hand-painted, kettled-dyed or dyed in small, artisanal batches.
It is suggested that you purchase all the yarn you need for a project when using these yarns. We also suggest that you alternate rows from different balls of yarn when knitting to mitigate any noticeable variations in dye.
We further recommend that you wash and block your pieces in a small bucket or other container dedicated for this purpose using fine fiber wash and color-catching sheets that will "grab" any dye that may lift from the yarn.
The Artful Yarn is not responsible
for the character or dye properties of these yarns.
You may return complete skeins/balls of unused yarn within 30 days of purchase for store credit as long as the yarn and any packaging has not been used in any way and is undamaged,
e.g. free of odors, etc.
You may return needles/hooks within 7 days for store credit as long as the product and packaging have not been damaged in any way.
The Artful Yarn does not accept returns on books, sale items or kits.
The Artful Yarn reserves the right to decline a return if the item is considered unusable in any way.
