The Artful Yarn is located in beautiful Downtown Chagrin Falls, in the Step North Building on the corner of North Main Street and East Orange.  Parking is located behind the Step North Building on East Cottage Street.  Take the second entrance to the parking garage and follow that out onto the open air parking deck. The door there will take you right onto the second floor.

While visiting The Artful Yarn give yourself some extra time to walk to the Falls, do some shopping, and grab something to eat.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

Purchase a passport available now ($10) and receive your free YDT souvenir project tote and stitch marker. Passports available now and through the end of the YDT while supplies last.

• The 2024 YDT begins Tuesday, September 3 and concludes Sunday, September 22.
• You can participate by visiting shops in person or from home on your own "virtual tour."
• Purchase a minimum of $10 (before tax) from any participating shop and receive that shop's free knit or crochet YDT pattern and entry into that shop's Prize Basket drawing ($100+ value). 
• When you make your purchase, you'll receive a passport stamp or sticker from that shop. Shop at a few shops or shop them all - either in-store or virtually.
• Purchase of your passport serves as your entry into YDT Prize Basket drawings as well.
• Prize winners will be drawn and notified the first week of October. Winners of YDT Prize Baskets may pick those up from their shop of choice via curbside delivery or in-store.
• Winners will be posted on the website as soon as possible after the YDT concludes.

Meet the creative force behind Cornbread & Honey! Indie dyer, Tanya Haynes, will be in the shop Saturday, September 7th, the first Saturday of the Yarn Discovery Tour. Tanya lives up the road from us in Painesville with 6 children, 3 dogs and an out-sized, well-warranted reputation as one of the most gifted indie dyers in our area, Ohio, the Midwest. You've seen their work online, at fiber festivals, area yarn shops and all over social media. Our owner, Tiffany Perry says "Their yarns make a great garment. I like the way they work with color." And yes, we so agree!

Our Knit Pattern

Tiffany states, "I wanted to bring some of the joy and whimsy I feel living in Chagrin Falls to the 2024 Yarn Discovery Tour pattern. With the bridge under construction, I have been thinking about some of my favorite things about this community and I have designed the Chagrin Adventure Cowl. I have incorporated some of my favorite Chagrin Falls sights into the colorwork charts of this pattern. The best part about this cowl is that you can choose to use as many of these motifs as you want, in any way you want. So, every cowl will be different!"

About the Pattern
Yarn: MC 1 skein Wonderland Yarns Mary Ann 85% Superwash Merino 15% Nylon with 475 yards in our custom color Road Not Taken and one 5-hank mini skein pack Meet Me at the Falls, 118 yards per mini skein (590 yards total)
Gauge: 30 sts, 34 rows = 4” / 10cm in color work.
Needles: 24” US Size 3, 3.25mm, circular needle, or size to obtain gauge
Finished Size: 27” Circumference, length varies based on number of motifs you work.

This cowl was designed specifically for The Artful Yarn for this year's Yarn Discovery Tour. You'll be impressed with it's warm, lovely texture!

About the Pattern
Yarn: MC 1 skein Wonderland Yarns Mary Ann 85% Superwash Merino 15% Nylon with 475 yards in our custom color Road Not Taken and one 5-hank mini skein pack Meet Me at the Falls, 118 yards per mini skein (590 yards total)
Gauge: 30 sts, 34 rows = 4” / 10cm in color work.
Hook:  Size 3.25 mm or size to obtain gauge
Finished Size: 15" wide, seamed together at the neck and 27" from top to tip of triangle.

The pattern is worked over 3-stitches with basic increases and decreases. Plus it uses slip stiches, single crochet and half-double crochet. Easy and fun to make!​
