Celebrate with fellow fiber enthusiasts, learning those techniques and projects that you've always wanted to try!
​OTN Rally Day is about making new fiber friends and trying new things! Start amazing new projects with awesome new yarn. It's our kick-off to Fall knitting! Held this year on Saturday, August 2, at the Chagrin Falls Township Hall.


Digital patterns are provided to class participants via email and Ravelry beginning the week of July 15. We appreciate your purchase of new yarn for OTN Rally Day projects.

The designer's favorite cowl style is definitely the Moebius cowl. It is perfect for colorwork projects because the floats are hidden inside, and it is so easy to style. Just pop it on to finish any outfit! This project uses mosaic knitting to add color and texture to this engaging piece.

Learn how to knit a mitten

Sometimes winter catches you by surprise and you need a pair of mittens, quick!
These are a perfect quick knit or a blank canvas for mitten fun!

 Class Level: Advanced Beginner
Must know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off and are ready to try double-pointed needles (DPNs)

What You Will Learn
Italian tubular cast on and why this looks great on mittens. Getting started with this cast on and knitting a cuff.

(Woolstok, Andorra, Bo Peep or Rios)

Homework
Read through the pattern and decide
which weight yarn, and what size mittens
you wish to make. Choose needles that match this choice. Do not begin the mitten,
as we will be learning a cast-on that looks great for mittens.

Additional information
 Participants will not be completing the mittens in class. The class is primarily for learning how to knit with DPNs (double-poionted needles) and the Italian Tubular cast-on for those who are newer to knitting, but understand the concept of how to knit in the round. The pattern is free to download on the Tin Can Knits Website, do so and familiarize yourself prior to the class. Note: the mittens are intended to be embroidered at a later date. Choosing DK or worsted weight yarn will facilitate that project.

Learn Linen Stitch Knitting

This take on the Japanese knot bag
in cotton makes a great casual bag.
It's knit in the round in one piece from the bottom up, including the straps. The straps are then joined with Kitchener stitch at the top. Linen stitch gives the bag a rustic, woven look with very little
stretch and the fabric it creates really holds its shape.

EMBROIDERING KNITS
Learn to embroider fun designs
and words on your knitted pieces


In this class we will be learning a technique to embroider onto hand knitted mittens. However, we will be using swatches to practice. You may bring plain hand knitted mittens if you have them to embellish.

Class Level: Beginner
Know what knitted fabric means.
No other special skills or experience is required. Just bring a bit of patience
and a positive attitude.

yarn to embroider onto knitted
or crocheted fabric.

The Artful Yarn is providing free patterns for all classes offered during
OTN Rally Day 2025
​Participants will start receiving
their downloadable class patterns
the week of July 15th. 

Patterns are purchased in your name through Ravelry and emailed to you.
You will need to print your own pattern copies when you receive them.

We will not be able to resend patterns
a second time. If you lose your pattern email, you will need to purchase that pattern from Ravelry yourself.
​
Due to the sheer volume of pattern pages, we are unable to accommodate the vast amount of printing required to supply everyone printed copies.

Tammy's Homesteading Crafts totes are fun, a little quirky, superbly made, and won't break the bank! She has several themed collections like coffee, Star Wars, cartoon animation, and more! We're so excited to host a trunk show with tons of her one-of-kind awesomeness.

We're talking tote bags, project bags, stitch stoppers and more! Here's an excellent opportunity to do some gift shopping as well as yarn shopping.
What could be better? Mimosas would be better, but not sure we can do that. ​

Just a quick reminder that construction is underway on the Main Street Bridge.
​We recommend using the free parking garage behind our building. There is also free parking across from the Chagrin Falls Police Department on West Washington Street as well as free, but timed parking in front of Heinen's.
