Learn to Knit and Learn to Crochet

You know you want to! Learn how to knit and/or how to crochet with us! We offer small group, learn-to classes most months which include yarn, needles/hook and a copy of Church Mouse Yarns & Teas How-To Companion booklet. Check out our calendar. Or call or email the shop to find out more and to register!

For our younger fiber friends, we suggest a private lesson.
Please call the shop so we can talk about what works best for your aspiring, new knitter or crocheter!

A Note about Classes & Workshops
Beginning January 2019, The Artful Yarn will require a 4-student minimum for most classes. We will also require the use of yarn purchased from our shop for class projects.

Some of our classes occur over several dates. It is important to attend all class dates for a successful project outcome.
If you are unable to attend one
or more sessions of a particular class, we suggest that you consider not taking that particular offering or schedule private lessons with the instructor
on the days/times that are mutually convenient for both of you.

If you do have to miss a session in a multi-date class, you may arrange with the instructor for a private lesson for that missed session. The only exception to this policy is our Learn to Knit and Building Blocks courses which have "forever comebacks" on those skills.

If you have any questions, please call or email the shop at 440.321.9754 or info@TheArtfulYarn.com

Cancellation Policy

 Store credit given
minus $5 service charge
for cancellations of any reason
up to 2 days before a class or event.

Because of staffing and enrollment planning, we are unable to give store credit for cancellations within 48 hours of class/event or day-of no-shows

If The Artful Yarn cancels a class or event, a store credit in the amount of the full fee paid will be issued to the participant. If you miss one of the scheduled sessions in your class, you may schedule a 60-minute private lesson directly with the instructor.
See our
Tutorial rates at left.

A Note about Hand-Dyed Yarn
Many of the yarns we carry are hand-dyed, hand-painted, kettled-dyed or dyed in small, artisanal batches.

It is suggested that you purchase all the yarn you need for a project when using these yarns. We also suggest that you alternate rows from different balls of yarn when knitting to mitigate any noticeable variations in dye.

We further recommend that you wash and block your pieces in a small bucket or other container dedicated for this purpose using fine fiber wash and color-catching sheets that will "grab" any dye that may lift from the yarn.

The Artful Yarn is not responsible
for the character or dye properties
of any yarn.

You may return needles/hooks within 7 days for store credit only as long as the product and packaging have not been damaged in any way.
