We love this shawlette! It makes the perfect scarfy project for anyone. We also love that, while not named for the Holden Arboretum, it is a cool nod to a Northeast Ohio conservation attraction!
Holden is a classic top-down triangular shawl knitting with fingering yarn. Inspired by the waves breaking along the shore, the shawl features wavy lace and is finished with a lovely picot edge. Pattern provides directions for three sizes depending on your knitting bliss. It looks great in gradients, solids, tonals, hand-dyed with speckles - well, you get it! It just looks great! Pattern included with yarn purchase. Call or visit us to discuss yarn color. Or let us choose something gorgeous for you!
Instructor: Cathy Hougan
This pattern has been professionally tech edited and includes both written and charted instructions.
430 (550, 800) yards/393 (503, 732) meters fingering weight yarn.
US 5 (3.75 mm) for lace version/US 6 (4mm) for fingering version, 40 inch or longer circular needles, or size needed to achieve gauge. We highly suggest knitting a fabric sample for gauge. Often we knit up a needle size to pop out the lace when blocked, but that is entirely up to you.
