The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" is a story about Ichabod Crane, a superstitious schoolteacher in a Dutch community on the Hudson River, who competes with the local hero, Brom Bones, for the hand of the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel. During a party, Ichabod hears tales of the Headless Horseman, a ghost believed to be a Hessian soldier. On his way home, Ichabod is chased by the horseman, who throws a pumpkin at him, and he mysteriously disappears.
