Hat Not Hate Campaign Begins
Sadly, we all know someone who is being bullied or was bullied. It's a serious issue affecting many people - children through seniors. Lion Brand Yarns launched its Hat Not Hate campaign several years ago, asking the crafting community to donate knit or crocheted hats that could be given to children across the country. Denim blue is the color of awareness to fight bullying. October recognizes efforts to raise awareness of bullying, and provide mechanisms for helping cope with bullying, find ways to educate children, families and community members about bullying and finding ways to end bullying altogether.
The Artful Yarn has been a part of this effort since it started. We are an official Hat Not Hate drop-off location. New this year, the Hat Not Hate organization will identify a school in Northeast Ohio where we will be dropping off the hats you donate. Over the past 3 years, tens of thousands of hats have been donated across the country!
Our 2022 shop goal is 300 hats. Join us!
For questions, please call the shop at 440-321-9754
There are no restrictions on sizes of hats. At least 75% of the hat must be a darker, denim blue color
